What is the difference between a Playable World and a private world?

A Playable World is built by someone else and you play it like a chat. You choose who you play and how the story opens, and if a reply goes wrong you retry it, remove it, or edit the line yourself like a book. A private world is your own and only you can open it, you play it the same way and you can also change the world itself, its characters and its rules. Think of co-op in a game, you can play in another player's world, but you don't redraw their map.

Does Lunafic have AI roleplay with pictures?

Yes. The person who builds a world adds pictures for its big moments, and while you play, the AI shows the right picture when that moment happens. Many worlds also open on their own picture. The pictures are prepared by the world's author, they are not generated live. Every picture you meet stays in your story, and worlds with pictures show a picture stack on their card.

Can I stop the AI from writing my character?

Yes, MC Mode is on by default. The AI never writes your dialogue, your feelings, or your actions. You play your character, and the AI plays everyone else in their own speech styles and languages, without you having to remind it. When you do want the AI to write your character for a moment, like a time skip or a scene change, you can switch to Author Mode in your own private world.

How does Lunafic remember a long story?

Chapter forty still knows what happened in chapter four. The whole story stays with the characters in layers, and who knows what is kept on its own, so a character never suddenly knows a secret they were not there for. Promises and vows stay as they were made, and search finds every line you have written.

Can I play with my favorite characters?

Yes. The library has worlds built on stories people love. Every character comes with a world bible that tells the AI how they talk and act, so they stay in character. Many of these worlds also come with their own pictures. Your story stays private unless you publish it, and your writing is never used to train AI.

How is it different from Character.ai?

Most chat apps keep you in one chat room with one bot. On Lunafic you step into a whole world with many characters, world rules, an opening, and often its own pictures, and your chats become chapters you can come back to. Characters can speak their own language with the translation beside each line, and "In scene" controls who is in the room, so nobody barges into a private moment.

Is my story private?

Private is the default. No story is used for AI training, nobody at Lunafic reads what you write, and nothing becomes public unless you publish it yourself. When you play a world someone else built, your story there is still private to you, and the world itself stays with its author. In your own worlds you can copy or export your chapters anytime.

Is it free to start?

Yes, with no credit card. The free plan gives you monthly AI usage to play your first stories, and memory works on every reply. Paid plans give you more AI usage, the Standard and Pro models, and open the Memory dialog, search, and Find and Replace. Stories are unlimited on every plan.
