# Ask AI, a helper for each step

> How the Ask AI button drafts a step from your world, and how you keep or reject each change.

Some steps have an Ask AI button. It reads your world and drafts what is still empty on that step, and you decide what to keep.

## Where it is

Ask AI is on the basics, the player start, endings, and how the AI behaves. It is not on the world, images or release steps. It works best after you added characters, because it drafts from them.

## How it works

- Open it. **The sheet is titled Ask about and the step name. It tells you it knows the whole world so far.**
- It thinks. **You can keep typing in the step while it works.**
- It proposes. **You see one row per field, with the current value crossed out and the proposed value next to it.**
- You choose. **New fields are kept by default. For a field you already wrote, you opt in row by row.**

Press Keep to apply only what you kept, Try again to ask again, or Write it myself to close the sheet and type your own.

Everything the AI drafted carries a small Drafted with AI mark until you edit it. Editing a value removes the mark.

> Nothing changes until you press Keep. If the AI cannot answer, the sheet says so and your world stays untouched.

Ask AI uses AI usage like any other AI request.
