Players who open a world with nothing to do often type Hi to test it, and then leave. This step gives them something to do in the first second. ## Starting choices Add up to six short choices, up to 80 characters each, like Knock on the shrine gate at dusk. Players see them as Your first move cards. Tapping one puts it in their reply line, ready to send. Each choice can carry an opening image. When a player picks it, the first reply starts with that image, every time. Press Attach the opening image on the choice to add one. ## Player roles Roles are the characters players can be, like The Captain or The Transfer Student. They are optional, and a world works without them. Roles save into your Wiki automatically. Press Add a role and fill in the fields. - Role name. **For example The Captain.** - One line under the name. **How the world sees this role.** - Story context. **Optional extra background.** > > A role is a fixed position. You write what the world sees, the name of the role and how people treat it, and endings are tied to it. The player writes their own name, the details they imagine, and every line the character says. Do not write how the player talks, because the player writing is the voice. If you remove a role, endings tied to it open to every role. ## How players begin - A role you made. **The player picks a role, then fills the hero sheet.** - Play as yourself. **The player writes as themselves with no hero. This path does not reach endings.** - Write my own hero. **Shown only when you made no roles.
