# Turn a Private world into a Playable World

> Promote your own world so other people can play it, without losing anything you wrote.

Many Playable Worlds start as a Private world. You build it for yourself, you love it, and then you want others to play it. Promote takes the world you have and opens the builder on it.

## How to promote

- Open the Library. **Go to Worlds and press Edit on your Private world.**
- Read the banner. **The builder tells you that you are turning this Private world into a Playable World, and that nothing you wrote is lost.**
- Walk the steps. **Each step adds what players need, like starting choices, roles, rules and endings.**
- Press Promote this world. **It is the last step before Release.**

> Promote does not publish anything. It changes the kind of world, then the release checklist waits for you.

## Going back

The builder tells you that you can go back to Private at any time. If you want to keep both versions, duplicate the world first.

## Keep your Private world and make a Playable copy

Duplicate world in the Library offers a Playable copy. It is a full copy with its own doors and endings. Edit it, then release it on its own, and your Private world stays untouched.
