> Play your character while the AI plays everyone else in their own voice and language. MC Mode, dual-language dialogue, chapters, and branching.

Somewhere in your old chats there is a roleplay you loved and lost, and it now lives in a scroll-back with no chapters and no way forward. Lunafic keeps that roleplay as a story, with chapters you can open, branch and keep.

## Give the scene something to hold

Pure dialogue works, and replies get better when you hand the scene something to hold, like a gesture, a look, or a half-truth. I bow and hold out my hand gives the AI something to answer. The AI matches the detail you bring.

## Write what your character can see

The AI plays what your character knows and nothing more. If you write that the stranger is lying, the AI may play everyone as if they knew it. Write what your character notices instead, like the pause before the answer, or the alibi he repeated twice.

## Dual-language dialogue

Our founders always loved how Japanese sounds, and reading it was another matter. So Lunafic keeps both, the sound of the line and the meaning under it.

In Japanese, the sentence ending carries the personality. Desu is formal and composed, and desu no is Dia Kurosawa's signature ending, a little proud and a little old-fashioned. Most writing tools flatten that away.

>
> The "desu", the "desu no": that is one of the beautiful things about Dia Kurosawa. This is why we created Lunafic in the first place. We were not satisfied with how AI writing platforms work today.

[Narrative settings](/docs/narrative-settings) control how each line reaches you, in the original script, romanized with a translation, or translation only.

## Scenes become chapters

When a scene ends, start a new chapter from the plus in the left column, or type /newchapter in the reply line. Chapters are what separate a chat log from a book. You find a moment again, you branch from it, and the memory stays manageable.
