# Start a Private world in two minutes

> A name, one character, and who you are. Then Chapter 1 opens.

A Private world is a room only you can open. Nothing is published, and nobody else sees it. Starting one takes three decisions, and everything else you add later while the story runs.

Open Create from the sidebar, pick Private world, and press Create a Private world. Each decision has its own screen.

## Screen 1, the name

Type a name for your world, like The Rooftop Promise. One name is enough, and you can change it any time. If you have no name yet, press Start without a name and Lunafic calls it Untitled world with today's date.

## Screen 2, the character and the languages

This screen sets the first character who appears in your scene, and the two languages of your story. Character language is what the characters speak. Narrative language is what the narration is written in. Both start as English, and you can change either one.

You then pick how to make the character.

- Build with AI. **Describe the character in your own words. The AI drafts the sheet and you keep what fits. Nothing is saved until you keep it.**
- Write it myself. **Open the character form and fill it in.**

## Screen 3, who you are

This is your hero sheet, the same one everywhere in Lunafic. Add a name, a portrait, traits and where you come from. Press Open Chapter 1 when you are done. If you prefer to play as yourself, press Play as yourself instead.

## Then you write

The last screen shows who is in your first scene and who you play. Press the Play button and Chapter 1 opens with your character on stage, waiting for your first line.
