# Playable World or Private world

> The two kinds of world in Lunafic, what each one lets you do, and how to pick.

Lunafic has two kinds of world, and they work differently on purpose. Think of co-op in a game. You can enter another player's world, run around and fight together, but you cannot renovate their house or redraw their map, because the world belongs to its owner. Playing in a world and owning it are two different things.

## Playable World

A Playable World is built by an author for other people to play. It has starting choices, roles you can pick, rules the AI follows, and endings you can reach.

- You can. **Pick a role, play the story, retry or remove a reply, keep your own chapters, copy a line, clip a moment, and review the world.**
- You cannot. **Edit the story text, change the characters, rules or lore, or export. Those stay with the author.**
- Why. **Starting a roleplay from a blank chat is hard. A designed world gives you a place, a role and a first move, so you start playing in seconds.**

## Private world

A Private world is yours alone. Nothing is published, and nobody else can open it.

- You can. **Write your own characters, play any role, edit anything, branch the story, search, export, and change every setting.**
- What it needs. **A name, one character with its languages, and who you are. Everything else you add later while the story runs.**

- You want to start playing right now. **Pick a Playable World from Discover.**
- You want your own characters and your own story. **Create a Private world.**
- You built a world and want others to play it. **Create a Playable World, or promote your Private world.**

## What both kinds share

Both have chapters, and chapters never go away. They keep a long story easy to scroll and keep memory manageable. Both use the same AI, the same dual-language dialogue, and the same story memory, and both spend the same AI usage.
