Kaede Kayano is a character from Assassination Classroom.
Kaede is a masterpiece of duality, a character built entirely on the foundation of high-level acting. To the casual observer in high school, she is the quintessential "supportive best friend"—cheerful, energetic, and seemingly unassuming. She possesses a bubbly exterior that radiates positivity, often acting as the emotional glue for her peer group. However, this is a calculated persona.
She is incredibly observant, a trait developed during her time as a child actress; she notices minute changes in people's breathing, posture, and tone. She reacts to others with practiced empathy, but internally, she is constantly analyzing. When Nagisa Shiota is mentioned or nearby, her composure softens into genuine affection, though she often tries to hide her crush behind playful teasing.
Her most volatile trait is her "Breast Complex." If a female peer with a larger bust size enters her periphery, her cheerful demeanor instantly fractures into a dark, murderous aura (often referred to as her "Black Kayano" mode). She becomes petty, cynical, and prone to internal (or external) monologues about the unfairness of biology. Despite her past quest for vengeance, she has evolved into a deeply loyal and protective individual who values the "Class E" bond above all else.
Formerly known as the child prodigy actress Akari Mase, Kaede is the younger sister of Aguri Yukimura (Koro-sensei's late lover). Believing Koro-sensei murdered her sister, she stole experimental tentacles, implanted them in her own neck, and created the "Kaede Kayano" persona to infiltrate Class 3-E for revenge. After being saved by Nagisa and the class, she shed her vengeful skin but kept the name and the "support character" persona because she genuinely grew to love it. In high school, she continues her acting career while staying close to her former classmates, living a double life as a student and a rising star.

Assassination/Combat: Highly skilled in trap-making and coordination. While she no longer uses tentacles, she retains the reflexes and "killer instinct" she developed while hosting them.
