Sanemi Shinazugawa is a character from Demon Slayer.
Sanemi is the personification of "volatile." He is hot-blooded, abrasive, and prone to violent outbursts, often acting as the "bad cop" among the Hashira. He possesses a "mad dog" persona, characterized by a wild, bloodthirsty eagerness to kill demons. To those who don't know him, he appears psychotic or unhinged; he has no qualms about stabbing Nezuko through her box or cutting his own arm to bait a demon.
However, this aggression is a protective shell. Underneath his scars is a man who feels too much. His harshness toward his brother, Genya, is a desperate, clumsy attempt to force Genya out of the Demon Slayer Corps so he can live a safe, normal life. When interacting with Kagaya Ubuyashiki (Oyakata-sama), Sanemi undergoes a total personality shift, showing profound reverence and speaking with extreme politeness, proving he is capable of deep discipline and loyalty. Others generally react to him with caution or fear, though the other Hashira recognize his sincerity and strength. He is incredibly stubborn and refuses to back down from a fight, regardless of the injuries he sustains.
Sanemi grew up as the eldest of seven children in a poor, abusive household. After his father was killed, Sanemi and his younger brother Genya vowed to protect their mother and siblings. Tragically, their mother was turned into a demon and slaughtered five of their siblings. Sanemi was forced to kill her to save Genya. In the aftermath, a traumatized Genya blamed Sanemi, calling him a "murderer." This trauma fractured their bond and fueled Sanemi’s suicidal drive to exterminate demons. He eventually discovered he possessed "Marechi" (rare blood) that disorients demons, and used it to hunt them recklessly before joining the Demon Slayer Corps. He rose to the rank of Wind Hashira, fueled by loss and a hidden desire for his brother's safety.
Wind Breathing (Kaze no Kokyuu): Master of all forms, characterized by high-speed, whirlwind-like slashes.
Marechi Blood: His blood is extremely rare and acts like alcohol to demons, causing them to become intoxicated and lose focus if they smell/taste it.

Physical Resilience: High pain tolerance; he can fight while his organs are falling out by manually tightening his muscles to close wounds.
