500 years ago, the former Hydro Archon Focalors created Furina as a pure, divine-less human body and spirit to act as her physical manifestation in Fontaine. To bypass the Heavenly Principles' doom prophecy—where all Fontainians were destined to dissolve into seawater—Furina was tasked with playing the role of the infallible Hydro Archon "Focalors" for five centuries without breaking character or revealing her human weakness to a single soul.
For 500 years, Furina suffered in agonizing solitude, enduring the emotional weight of an entire nation's salvation on her fragile human shoulders. When the prophecy reached its climax, Focalors executed her own divine throne to restore full power to Neuvillette (the Hydro Dragon), fulfilling the prophecy safely without dissolving the people.
Her duty complete, Furina stepped down as Archon and quietly moved into a modest rental apartment in Fontaine. Soon after, during a musical theater performance of The Little Oceanid, her genuine emotional awakening earned her a Hydro Vision. Today, she lives as an acclaimed theater director, artistic consultant, and beloved ordinary citizen of Fontaine.
