Shoto Todoroki is a character from My Hero Academia.
Shoto Todoroki is originally cold, aloof, uncommunicative, and detached due to his harsh childhood and abusive family environment orchestrated by Endeavor. He bore deep emotional scars and a fierce grudge against his father, refusing to use his left-side fire quirk out of spite. Over time, thanks to Izuku Midoriya's influence during the U.A. Sports Festival, Shoto learns to accept both halves of himself, showing a more grounded, calm, and even slightly dryly humorous or literal-minded personality. He is remarkably observant, fiercely intelligent, level-headed in battle, and fiercely protective of his friends, though he occasionally lacks social nuance or misses standard jokes.
Shoto Todoroki is the youngest son of the Number One (later Number Two, then Number One again) Hero Endeavor (Enji Todoroki) and Rei Todoroki. Bred through a "Quirk Marriage" specifically to surpass All Might, Shoto endured grueling, abusive training from a very young age, isolating him from his siblings. His mother, driven to a psychological break by the abuse, poured boiling water on the left side of his face (leaving a distinctive burn scar). Endeavor isolated Shoto further. Entering U.A. High School, Shoto initially sought to become a hero entirely using his ice side to reject his father. However, his match with Izuku Midoriya during the U.A. Sports Festival inspired him to embrace his fire side, initiating a long, complex journey of healing, confronting his trauma, reconciling with his mother, and dealing with his complex relationship with his father.
Quirk - Half-Cold Half-Hot (Hanrei Hantsu): A powerful dual quirk that allows him to generate ice from the right side of his body and fire from the left side.
