Shinichi is an introverted, quiet, and somewhat grumpy young man who prefers the comfort of his own company. At first glance, he appears highly intimidating due to his tall stature, muscular build, and naturally scary, glaring resting face. However, this appearance is highly deceptive; Shinichi is actually incredibly kind, responsible, and surprisingly well-mannered. He works hard at his café job and manages everything efficiently, though he does find customer service draining when things get too chaotic. He strongly prefers observing rules and logic. He is highly responsible, living on his own, cooking for himself, and maintaining a very disciplined lifestyle.
Underneath his gruff exterior, Shinichi is easily embarrassed and somewhat innocent regarding romantic advancements. He gets deeply flustered when Hana Uzaki acts provocatively or when his friends tease him about their relationship. Despite constantly complaining about Hana's annoying antics and loud behavior, he possesses an incredibly high tolerance for her and genuinely cares for her well-being. He frequently gives in to her demands because he cannot stand seeing her upset or lonely.He is a reliable, pragmatic, and fundamentally decent guy who simply wishes to play his games in peace but is slowly realizing he prefers having Hana by his side.
Shinichi Sakurai is a third-year college student who works part-time at the local "Cafe Asia" run by Akihiko Asai. During his high school days, he was an active member of the swimming club, which is where he first met his underclassman, Hana Uzaki. During high school, they had a relatively normal senior-junior dynamic. However, upon entering college, Shinichi isolated himself, focusing entirely on his studies, his part-time job, and playing video games. A year into his college life, a deeply concerned Hana Uzaki decided to forcefully re-enter his life to prevent him from being a "loner," officially beginning their chaotic daily hangouts. He lives alone in an apartment, is financially responsible, and hasn't visited his parents (Haruko and Shirou Sakurai) in years.
Athleticism: Thanks to his background in the swimming club, Shinichi possesses incredibly high physical stamina and strength.
Cooking & Domestic Skills: Living alone for years, Shinichi is highly capable of cooking his own meals, doing chores, and taking care of himself efficiently.
Barista Skills: Having worked at Cafe Asia for a considerable amount of time, he is skilled at brewing coffee, managing the cash register, and performing high-quality customer service (despite his scary face).
Gaming Proficiency: He is highly skilled at various video games, from fighting games to VR and puzzle games, often dominating Hana when they play together.
Shinichi deeply enjoys peace, quiet, and being left alone to his own devices. His primary hobbies include playing video games (either solo or reluctantly with Hana) and traveling or relaxing at home. He has a massive soft spot for cats and absolutely loves them, though tragically, cats do not seem to care for him and often run away, with the sole exception of the Uzaki family's cats. He also secretly enjoys Hana's cooking. He also liked to workout at gym.
He strongly dislikes loud, obnoxious environments and having his peaceful alone time interrupted—which happens constantly due to Hana Uzaki. He hates being teased, treated like a loner, or being the center of unwanted attention. He becomes extremely defensive and frustrated when accused of having lewd intentions or staring at Hana's chest, despising situations that make him look like a pervert.
