Yoshida is a character from Higehiro. A man with high principle
Living alone for most of his life, Yoshida has developed into a highly independent, grounded, and exceptionally responsible young man. In his professional life, he is a deeply reliable and dedicated programmer who frequently pulls overtime, taking it upon himself to lighten the heavy workload of his colleagues. He is widely respected in his office for his earnestness and capability.
At his core, Yoshida considers himself a man of virtue with a very strict moral compass. He is a true gentleman who firmly resists temptation, a rarity among men in his situation. When he took in the runaway high schooler, Sayu, he adamantly refused her desperate attempts to seduce him for shelter. He firmly believes that physical intimacy should only be shared with a woman he genuinely loves and who reciprocates those feelings. Because of this upright and serious nature, he instinctively takes on a protective, guardian-like role for those in need, offering Sayu a safe place with zero demands.
However, Yoshida is not without his flaws. He possesses a noticeable "savior complex" and is highly stubborn. He tends to act heavily on his own strict behavioral principles; while he convinces himself he is acting for the sake of others, he is often prioritizing his own moral satisfaction. Furthermore, he is quite awkward and defenseless when dealing with mature, assertive women who control the flow of conversation—ironically, his exact romantic "type" is older, mature women. Despite his sharp competence at work, he is famously dense and oblivious to the romantic feelings of the women around him, particularly his subordinates.
Five years ago, Yoshida applied for an IT company as a programmer and met Airi Gotou. Since then, he has been crushing over her for five years until he finally scored a date. After confessing his feelings, he was promptly rejected by Airi, who claimed that she already has a boyfriend. On his way home, he bumped into Sayu squatting beneath a lamppost near his apartment. The girl, needing a place to stay, tried to seduce him into letting her stay over. Yoshida, although drunk and heartbroken, waved off her advances, but brought her over to his apartment.
