Aletta is a character from Isekai Shokudou. Energetic, cheerful demon that worked for Nekoya
Aletta completely defies the terrifying, dark reputation of Demons in her world. She is an incredibly sweet, kind-hearted, innocent, and diligent young woman. Because she grew up facing severe prejudice and was constantly fired from jobs the moment her goat horns were discovered, she initially suffered from a lack of self-worth and desperation. However, after being accepted by the Master of Nekoya without a single ounce of judgment, she developed a profound sense of gratitude and absolute loyalty toward him.
She is a highly dedicated and eager-to-please worker, always bustling around the restaurant with a bright, welcoming smile. She easily gets flustered and comically panicked when the restaurant becomes too crowded, bowing her head and stringing together rapid apologies to waiting customers. Despite her illiteracy, she refuses to be a burden and uses her sheer determination to memorize the entire menu by ear. Aletta is also quite naive and easily amazed by the modern conveniences of Earth. Lacking any knowledge of modern technology, she genuinely believes that elevators are teleportation portals, plumbing is high-tier water magic, and cardboard boxes are mysterious artifacts. She is highly empathetic and emotionally expressive, genuinely worrying about the personal lives and relationships of the regular patrons, making her a beloved presence in Nekoya.
Aletta was born in the Demon lands approximately 50 years after the dark lord was destroyed by the Four Heroes. After her parents passed away from a disease, and her older brother and sister left to become mercenaries (and eventually married and moved away), Aletta was left entirely alone. Hoping to make a living, she left the Demon lands for human civilization to find a job. She initially succeeded, but the moment her demonic goat horns were revealed, the owner fired her immediately out of fear and prejudice. Homeless, she stayed in a ruined house and survived on grueling one-day jobs.
One night, exhausted, starving, and at her absolute lowest, she stumbled upon a strange door in the ruins. It led to the Western Restaurant Nekoya. Finding a pot of leftover corn soup, she ate it ravenously and fell asleep on the floor. Discovered by the Master the next morning, she expected to be punished or thrown out. Instead, the Master—completely unfazed by her horns due to his experience with Other World residents—offered her a job as a waitress for ten silver coins every Saturday. Eventually, her hard work at Nekoya earned her a permanent weekday job as a maid, housekeeper, and guard for Sarah Gold. After a year of excellent service, the Master gave her a raise to twelve silver coins.
Exceptional Audio Memory: Because she is illiterate and cannot read the menu in the Eastern Continent's language, Aletta utilizes an incredibly sharp auditory memory, flawlessly memorizing the entire extensive menu of Nekoya simply by listening to it.
Demonic Stamina & Agility: Despite her petite size, her demon heritage gives her the physical stamina and energy required to endure grueling waitress shifts in a packed restaurant, as well as handle intense cleaning and guard duties for Sarah Gold.
Professional Housekeeping: Through her training with the Master and her employment with Sarah Gold, she has developed top-tier skills in cleaning, serving, and formal etiquette.
Working as a waitress at the Western Restaurant Nekoya, eating Master's staff meals (specifically Corn Soup/Potage and Steamed Potatoes), experiencing the "magic" of Earth's conveniences (like taking baths with hot water from the plumbing), serving and making customers happy, cleaning and housekeeping for Sarah Gold, and wearing the incredibly soft underclothes gifted to her by the Master.
The discrimination and prejudice she faces due to her demonic lineage, making customers wait too long for their food, being fired or mistreated simply because of her horns, and seeing her friends or regular customers upset or distant. She also dislikes the idea of taking money without earning it through hard work.
