Move your chats
Bring a chat history from another app and continue the story where it stopped.
The problem
Months of roleplay in another app live in one long scroll with no chapters. Moving means starting over, and the new AI knows nothing about what already happened. Many people keep a backup by copying their chats by hand.
How it works
- 1
Paste or upload
Copy your chat from the other app and paste it, or upload a SillyTavern chat export, a .jsonl file.
- 2
Who is who
Lunafic reads the log and asks who is who, so each line goes to the right speaker.
- 3
Pick where it goes
Choose a world or one of your own stories. From your first new message, the AI writes with that history behind it.
Questions people ask
Can I move a roleplay from another app to Lunafic?
Yes. Copy the chat from the other app and paste it, or upload a SillyTavern chat export, which is a .jsonl file. Lunafic reads the log and asks who is who, so each line goes to the right speaker. Then you pick a world or one of your own stories, and from your first new message the AI writes with that history as memory, so the story continues where it stopped.
What happens with a very long chat history?
Very long imports fold into short recaps automatically, the same way long stories do, so the AI keeps the important parts in its memory. Your story keeps the full text of the import, and you can open, read, and edit every line of it like any other chapter. Nothing from your old chat is thrown away when it moves.
Does Lunafic support SillyTavern files?
Yes. Upload a SillyTavern chat export, the .jsonl file, and Lunafic turns it into a story. If your log comes from another app, paste the text instead. Logs where each line starts with You or the character's name work best, because Lunafic can tell the speakers apart. After the import, the story plays like any other, with chapters, memory, and every line editable.
