Can I roleplay with anime characters?
Yes, in two ways. Lunafic has original anime-style worlds like Vengeance and Love Languages, where the characters speak Japanese with the translation under every line. And if you love a series, you can build your own private world around it and write your own fan fiction there. Nobody at Lunafic reads your stories, nothing goes public unless you publish it, and your writing is never used to train AI.
Do the characters speak Japanese?
They speak what their world says they speak. Many anime-style worlds on Lunafic use Japanese characters with English narration, and every line carries romaji with the translation under it, so you hear the sound and get the meaning at once. If you read Japanese comfortably, switch to native script and the brackets disappear. A world's wiki can also keep a Speech Style for each language, so a character keeps how they talk in every language.
Can I play it like a game?
Yes, in a Playable World. You press Play, choose who you are and how the story opens, and some worlds have endings to reach. Vengeance and Love Languages has three openings, three endings, and 18 scene pictures that the author prepared, and the AI shows each one when its moment happens in your story. Every picture you meet stays in your story, the rest stay sealed until their scene comes.
